I love solving problems for other people.

Whether it’s finding a physical solution, or researching an idea to gain deeper understanding and strengthen communication with others, I follow the journey from beginning to end. I take a human-centered approach to design and research, and am persistent when seeking an answer or solution.

I started out in the magazine industry, working with a major clothing retailer to launch their first publication. From there, I went to film school and then worked as a costume designer and production designer for the next 20 years. Along the way, I took on some special projects too: award-winning grant writing, point-of-sales system information design, and payroll and benefits management for an historic restaurant in Austin, TX.

This diverse experience is my greatest asset. Each role required coming together with a team to understand the end-user’s needs, uncover the root of the problem, and develop effective solutions – while working within the project’s requirements to achieve the desired result.

With a recent degree in User Experience Design, I’m now focused on gaining expertise in UX while leveraging the crossover of skills I’ve honed across my career.
